Our Governance

Governance Statement

The UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK) is committed to the highest standards of governance, transparency, and accountability in the leadership and development of EUC sports in the United Kingdom.

Our governance framework ensures the sport is managed responsibly, ethically, and in the best interests of all participants, clubs, officials, and stakeholders.

The Board

The UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK) operates under a clear governance structure led by a volunteer Board of Directors, supported by an Executive Director / Operations Lead responsible for day-to-day delivery.

This hybrid model ensures strong strategic oversight while enabling effective operational management.

The Board is collectively responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Association, overseeing financial stewardship, approving policies, and ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory obligations.

The Board acts in accordance with the UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK) Articles of Association and is guided by the principles of integrity, inclusivity, accountability, and transparency.

Board Members are appointed or elected for fixed terms and are expected to act in the best interests of the Association at all times. Conflicts of interest are formally declared, recorded, and managed to ensure objective decision-making.

Committee Structure

The UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK) maintains a committee structure to support effective governance and oversight of E-Wheel Polo & EUC Racing. Committees operate under approved terms of reference and report directly to the Board.

These include committees responsible for safeguarding, finance and audit, performance and development, and discipline and ethics.

This structure enables informed decision-making while maintaining clear lines of accountability.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is embedded within the UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK)’s governance arrangements.

The Board takes overall responsibility for safeguarding children, young people, and adults at risk and ensures that safeguarding policies, procedures, and reporting mechanisms are in place and effectively implemented across all affiliated clubs, academies, events, and programmes.

Safeguarding responsibilities are clearly defined, and compliance is monitored as part of the Association’s wider governance and risk management processes.

Financial Governance

Financial governance is a core responsibility of the Board. The UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK) operates robust financial controls, including budgeting, monitoring, and independent review of accounts.

Financial decisions are made in line with approved policies and delegated authorities, ensuring that resources are used responsibly to support the sustainable growth of the sport.

Conduct

The UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK) is committed to ethical behaviour and high standards of conduct across all levels of EUC sport.

All Board members, staff, volunteers, instructors, officials, and participants are required to comply with the UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK)’s Codes of Conduct. Breaches of governance standards, policies, or codes are addressed through clear disciplinary and complaints procedures.

Risk Management

Risk management is integral to the governance of the UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK). The Board regularly reviews strategic, operational, financial, safeguarding, and reputational risks and ensures appropriate mitigation measures are in place. This proactive approach supports the safe, sustainable development of EUC sports across the UK.

Transparency

Transparency and openness are central to the UK EUC Sports Association (EUC UK)’s approach to governance. Key policies, including safeguarding and governance documents, are publicly available. The Association communicates openly with members, affiliated clubs, and stakeholders, and provides regular updates on its activities, performance, and priorities.
